Kotka International All Breeds Show

It's hard to imagine a more picturesque setting than the venue for the 21st “Rose of Kotka” in Finland. The location for the International All Breeds Dog Show on August 15th was Katariina Seaside Park located at the southernmost tip of Kotka, a 20 hectare versatile park and recreational area which enjoys active use throughout the year.

Gotha - British Herding Breeds

I was delighted to be invited back to Germany for the tenth time - this time to judge The British Herding Breeds Club Show held in Gotha, a three hour drive from Frankfurt airport. The show was so well organised with excellent size rings and perfect ring officals plus wonderful weather all made this dog showing at its very best.

Farmdogs Club Champ Show

These charming little dogs probably have their origin in the Pinscher breeds and the British white terriers that Jack Russell and Fox Terriers also originate from. There are many paintings and photographs of these farmdogs from the 1800s to early 1900s although from paintings from the 1400s you can see dogs that are similar to todays Farmdogs.

28th International - Paraiba

Judging a dog show is an amazing experience and feeling for me. To find and choose the best examples of a breed, according to its standard is no easy task, but it should be something exciting for every judge, at least it is for me. Judging dogs is not a job, it is a hobby, a passion. A hobby that gives us the great opportunity to visit a lot of countries, to meet their people people and enjoy their culture.

Well that’s an experience many dog people enjoyed in Helsinki recently as the bi annual Eukanuba Summer Show took place over three days just outside the city outskirts.

Rotterdam Double Show

Best in Show (Saturday) in Rotterdam at the double show was the Bearded Collie, Beardie Connections Kenji, owned by M. C. H. B. Otto. BIS Judge was Ole Staunskjaer from Denmark. Best in Show (Sunday) in Rotterdam at the double show was the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Caramel Apple v. Tum-Tum’s Vriendjes, owned by G. M. Huikeshoven from the Netherlands. BIS Judge was Mrs Ineke Zwaartman-Pinster.
