With an entry of 1,233 dogs, the organisers of the latest “Ambiorix Trophy” were quite happy. In 2017 they still had an entry of 1,738 and last year 1,513. If we compare with all the other shows and the declining tendency, we are happy to have that many dogs.
The most famous show in Greece, the triple international shows & the Greek Winner show 2019, was held the last weekend of June in Marathon with big success.
Blackpool Championship show held their show at Redwood Park, Inskip last weekend. A fabulous rural location, adequate for a dog show.
The FCI have held an extraordinary meeting of the General Committee during their second Judges Congress which took place in Acapulco, Mexico immediately following the America’s and Caribbean Section Show, to discuss procedures regarding World and Section shows.

The winner of the European Dog Show 2019 held in Wels, Austria was the Newfoundland, Ursinus Velutus Zesty Guy owned by Zoltan Bartos and handled by Zsolt Hano.
Tamas started with Cocker spaniels and later on with all sizes of short-haired Dachshunds and also, more recently, Magyar AGárs. He has also successfully competed with his Poodle.
The most prestigious show weekend in Slovakia, was won by the American Staffordshire Terrier, Attacks Of Love Splanety Zvezd, bred by A. I. Grigorievyh and owned by Valeriya Golubeva.
The Rovaniemi International Show is the northernmost all-breed show in Finland. Rovaniemi lies at the Arctic Circle and is known as the home town of Santa Claus.
Three counties championship show held a successful show up in the Malvern Hills. The weather was kind on the first day but unfortunately a small shower just before the groups led to the terrier group being judged inside followed shortly by the toys.
Best in Show at Southern Counties 2019 was the Whippet Crosscop Let It Shine For Supeta JW, owned by Mrs L Morris, Mr G Waddell & Miss F Mycroft.
As OUR DOGS goes to press we are in receipt of two Kennel Club statements. The first release came soon after the Board meeting on Tuesday June 4th.
Pisa International show weekend Long show weekend was in Pisa, Italy, with 2 International, 1 National, and more club shows, as usual in Italy.
We get used to this show as one of the sunniest in Belgium. But that does not mean it is hot, at least not inside.
Thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge at their Championship show, the hospitality and being well looked after. To the exhibitors for entering the lovely dogs and the sporting way they accepted the decisions, there were lots of close ones to be made.
