The Slovak Bobtail, Bearded Collie and Border Collie Special CAC Club Show was held on 24th November 2012.

It was an honour and pleasure for me to be invited to judge this clubs show. The Club covers just the three breeds, expecting an entry of 50-60 dogs, all were delighted with the entry of 75 dogs - 37 Border Collies, 24 Bearded Collies and 14 Bobtails. I’m told usually only three maybe four Bobtails enter this show, this time entries came from Hungary, the Czech Republic and Austria. I was well pleased with the quality in all three breeds and the depth of quality in the Beardies was really impressive with not a bad one present!

Malta Canine Society Ch Show

The show was well supported and held in a good size sports hall with an excellent, carpeted ring and had a great ringside. Organisation was impeccable.

The gundog group was won by the Cocker Spaniel, Asquanne Giraldi, a black dog of only 16 months, he has the most handsome, masculine head and is so well put together throughout and shows it on the move, he looked a picture!

Kortrijk

Written by Administrator

IT ALL started in 1964, 49 shows ago, in Menen, a small town in the neighbourhood of Kortrijk. Now it is, without any doubt, the number one show in Flanders and the strongest rival of the national show of Belgium in Brussels. It is the most famous and best known in Belgium, but also in Europe.

The Eukanuba World Challenge (EWC) has enjoyed a strong connection with some of the world’s top winning dogs. It has aptly earned an enviable reputation in the six years since its inception.  Former EWC representatives, breeders and exhibitors have enjoyed remarkable show ring and breeding success with their dogs, this year is no exception the EWC representatives have won major accolades at prominent shows, some since competing in the EWC and vice versa.

Some of this year’s qualified dogs are BIS Winners having won at the FCI World Dog Show, the 3 FCI Section Shows, the AKC Eukanuba National Championships (AENC), Westminster and Crufts. They will be competing in this prestigious event that has found some of the most spectacular dogs winning the title Eukanuba World Challenge Champion plus the very generous prize money of $10,000.  $3,000 & $2,000 prize money is awarded to the two runners up respectively.

November seems to be the month of the Afghan hound winning Best in Show at top events in the world of dogs.

Making a hat trick of winners for Afghans, Dutch judge John Wauben from Limburg in Holland, had the honour of judging The Amsterdam All Winners show making the Finnish owned Afghan Hound M. Ylitalo’s Agha Djari’s Blue Blood the overall winner from 4,500 dogs.

BIS was Tanja Elo & Sanna Vartiainen’s American Cocker Spaniel, FI, LV, LT CH & LV, LT JCH & Balt-JW-11, LV-W-12 Very Vigie Freezing-In-Finland. BIS judge was Petru Muntean.

UK success at Kortrijk

Written by Administrator

It was a great day for the Brits at the 49th Kortrijk Show when the Afghan Hound, Afterglow Jumping Rainbows of Sofico bred by Mike Gadsby and co-owned by Claire Millward together with Dudley and Glenys Chadwick from North Wales took top spot out of 3000 dogs at this popular Belgian event.

Lovanium Trophy 2012

Written by Administrator

This club is one of the younger Belgian clubs that organises dog shows in Belgium. For a few years now, this club has  awarded CACIB’s and has grown a lot since. The number of shows in Belgium has decreased, especially in Wallonia where only two shows remain, Liège and Mouscron. However, Charleroi again had a one day CAC show and there are plans to restart Namur too, but that is  not the case for La louvière.
