Animal Welfare Dog Ordinance
The Animal Welfare Dog Ordinance provides for a ban on showing certain dogs. Based on the experience of past shows, we have agreed with the official veterinary office on the following concept:
- Clinical or special examination for certain dog breeds
- Random checks of all dogs
The list of breeds that require a veterinary certificate in advance can be found here: https://www.hund-und-pferd.de/en/exhibitor/german-animal-welfare-regulation-for-the-protection-of-dogs
Dogs of breeds not listed there do not require a veterinary certificate.
Random checks are carried out on all dogs. These are not carried out at the entry inspection, but at the judging rings. Special attention is paid to relevant anatomical changes/symptoms in the sense of § 10 Nr 2 TierSchHuV.
