Vice Chairman Mike Denny said in a statement, ‘It is with great regret that The Hound Association has to announce that this year’s Houndshow, due to take place on Saturday July 18th at Stafford County Showground, has been cancelled.
‘Houndshow does fall just outside the current recommended date of June 30th to cancel events or mass gatherings but preparation for our show starts many weeks before the actual show date and we are currently in a situation where we are unable to guarantee the necessary support services, including medical cover, will be in place.
‘However it is the health and welfare of our exhibitors, judges, stewards, committee and suppliers that has been right at the forefront of our thinking and has lead us to making this sad but inevitable decision.
‘Our Secretary will be in touch as quickly as possible with all our judges to discuss this and all those exhibitors who have already entered will be refunded in full but please be patient while we work through this process alongside our colleagues at Higham Press.
‘The Officers & Committee of The Hound Association send our very best wishes to our members, exhibitors, stewards and suppliers in these difficult times; stay safe and well and we look forward to seeing you all again before too long and enjoying Houndshow 2021 with you all.’
