It was a big honour to accept the invitation to judge for Mr Mohamed Azhary, the President of EKF. Their club became an FCI contract member not long ago.
Their members are full of passion even though they are not yet as skilful in the ring. The atmosphere of the show was marvellous. You can see they have a lot of potential in this young kennel club.
Their superb hospitality made us have a remarkable experience of this country. Meanwhile, our Section will offer them all the necessary support to assist their development. We will like to see EKF will have rapid growth in the near future!

CLAUDIO DE GIULIANI (ITALY)
I had heard of the President of the Egyptian Kennel Club Mr. Mohamed El Azhary a few years ago, through my friend judge Enrico Adinolfi, when Enrico went to Egypt to hold the first seminar on cinotecnia with a presentation created by me.
I then met Mohamed in some shows in Europe end he invited me to go to in Egypt for judging. So in 2019 I managed to go.
Together with the other colleagues, Francesco Cochetti and Franki Leung, we judged an international show in the morning and a national one in the afternoon. About 180 dogs for each of us!!
The quality in some breeds, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German shepherds and Siberian huskies was overall good while in others the road to go is still long. But all the Egyptian Kennel Club headed by Mr. Mohamed El Azhary is doing a great job and I am sure that in a few years they will reach a high level of subbjects.
However, I must also push European breeders to send good subjects to Egypt and not to take advantage of the good will and ingenuity of Egyptian dog lovers. The organization was excellent, without so many problems in the ring where very competent ring-stewards with the desire to learn helped us to do our job in the best possible way.
The weather has also helped because there was no exaggerated sun, for the sake of dogs and for all of us. The very beautiful, spacious rings where even the most important breeds, such as German shepherd, Rottweiler and Siberian husky, were able to move being able to express themselves to the maximum. Vince Hogan of Our Dogs and Charles Allen of Birdbrook contributed to the success of the event, the first with its live videos, the second with the rosettes provided, and of course both with their support.
Thank you to the Egyptian Kennel Federation for the wonderful weekend spent in Egypt.

The best part of our hobby is when you meet wonderful people like Mohamed and Marina El Azhary, President of Egyptian Kennel Federation and his wife.
They treated us so well and they did their best. The show was well organized and it was a superb quality of German Shepherd and Rottweiler. Forty eight Long Coat German Shepherd you don’t find easily nowadays in a FCI show.
They do things putting their heart and soul into the show and their Kennel Club and this means they will grow fast! Egypt is a beautiful country to visit and these people around the KC have a great soul!
Congratulations are due to the hard-working team who staged the Thebes Land Show 2019 on the outskirts of Cairo in March 2019.
Many people would be surprised to know that there is a thriving dog show community active in Egypt, with a kennel organization already working towards full FCI membership. This show took place on a sports ground, with very level grassed areas for large rings. Most breed judging took place in the day with finals at night (chilly!!) under floodlights. Exhibitors were enthusiastic and appreciative of the judging of three well known international names.
Judges and guests were also treated to a trip to the impressive pyramids of Giza where we met a number of camels along the way!
The President of the Egyptian Kennel Federation Mohamed El Azhary said,“ Our next event is The Pharaonic Land Show 2019; a championship show consisting of CACIB & CAC shows. Every year the EKF is welcoming more and more foreign participants who are making use of visiting the land of mysteries Egypt and enjoying our dog shows atmosphere with the usual top quality panel of judges.”
