Ambiorix Trofee 2020

Ambiorix Trofee Dog Show 2020 Belgium Best In Show Was The Belgian Shepherd Dog Tervuren Grimmendans Qarasco Spruyt-vermeire
With 1445 dogs entered for this show, the organizers of the Ambiorix Trofee 2020 were quite happy, especially as it was only a national show and very close to Crufts! Compared to some CACIB shows that is indeed a good result.

Mouscron Show, Belgium

Best in show at the popular Mouscron show in Belgium, out of a decent entry of 1731, was the Yorkshire Terrier, Nadine Carpaccio’s Karalen Blyuz Royal Daymond. The judge was Mrs Mach from Switzerland.
While two years ago an average of 2000 entries for this show was normal, last year had a very serious drop down to only 1511 entries.

Belgium 2019 Review

Papillon Planet Waves Forever Young Daydream Believers, Kathleen Roosens breeder and owner.
2019 saw four more double shows, namely in Brabo, Gent, Liège, and Mechelen. Brabo and Gent are only three weeks apart and Liège and Mechelen too.

Kortrijk Eurodogshow 2019

Best in Show at the Eurodogshow in Kortrijk was the Swiss Mountain Dog, Oby Van’t Maroyke, owned by Freddy De Smet from Belgium. Reserve BIS was the Italian Pointing Dog, Anzani Di Regione Montagnosa, owned by Scarlett and Mark Burnside from the UK; and BIS 3 was the Labrador Retriever, Woefdram’s Abercrombie, owned by Sander Nugteren from the Netherlands. BIS Judge was Paul Stanton (Sweden).
As last year was a double show with 4,236 entries for the two shows, it had 2,361 dogs for this edition. Depending on how you look at it, it is a slight increase this year.

Lovanium 2019

At the Louvanium show’s 30 anniversary, the Best in Show was the Miniature Poodle, Nice Steps For Me Only, owned by Julia Nad from Germany. Best in Show judge was Claudio De Giuliani (Italy).
Notwithstanding the decreasing numbers everywhere in dogdom Lovanium managed to stand hold as good as possible.

La Louvière 2019

The La Louviere 2019 Best in Show winner was the Basenji, Faraoland On A Bed Of Roses, owned by Alain Alaerts from Belgium. Best in Show judge was Jean Jacque Dupas (France).
La Louvière 2019 Undeserved it was, 200 dogs lesser than last year, 1302 dogs, while the organizers made more room to move around in order to make this show more enjoyable for the exhibitors.

Mechelen 2019 - St Rombouts Cup

BIS at Mechelen on Saturday was the Miniature Bull Terrier, Vicky Of Bully Lake, owned by Francesca Scorza Petazzi from Italy. BIS Judge was Torsten Lemmer (Bulgaria).
It is getting more and more difficult for clubs to organise their yearly dog shows. One of the shows that has had serious problems is the show of Mechelen.

Liege 2019

The Golden Trophy Best in Show was the American Cocker Spaniel, Very Vigie Nobody Is Perfect, owned by Simon Whincup from the UK. BIS Judge was I. Vyguzov (Russia).
With lots of pride, Mr Boclinville, the President of the club Syndicat d’Elevage Canin de Liège, told me that he had a record entry this year. I was somewhat suspicious as this was a double show and Committees used to count up the entries of both shows in order to make it look more successful.
