To say the show was spectacular would be an understatement, it was electric at times when all the final awards were given, a huge ringside certainly let you know which were their favourites , the music and lighting and wonderful prizes resulted in a show I will remember for a very long time.
The final Top Dog in Denmark went to the Hungarian Puli in Ch Bubbleton Feel The Spirt. How proud must the Danish Kennel Club be for organising this World Class Event and quite rightly so!
I was contracted to judge 79 Great Danes on the first day, with mixed quality, very happy with my top winners, but the depth of quality was lacking somewhat, movement being a big problem. This breed cannot be all about a head and neck! My winners, Black (18) BOB, Ch Horsebjerg Poker Face Ga Ga. BOS, Ch Guldhojs Lilja. Fawn/Brindle (39) BOB the 14 month old Danish Danehouse Wellinton with his litter sister, BOS Danish Danehouse Whoopie. Harli/Blue (22) BOB in Ch Soverindane A Immortal Legend. BOS, Ch Erkkertin Love Love Hoppingham.
On the second day, I started with Australian Shepherds. Both the Ch male and Ch Female Classes were brimming with quality and both classes not easy to sort out! My BOB, a Red/White male, Ch Khetashio Perfect Isnt Easy. My BOS, a b/m, Ch Illumineer Skyline Drive (I was told later a Crufts Class winner). I also was taken with a 9 year old and brought her up from Veteran to the Res CACIB, in Ch Thornapple What The Doc Ordered, and it did not surprise me to be told she was a Crufts BOB and Group 2 winner, she looked wonderful and so correct for breed type. Sending both girls around, the youngster just had a little more freedom in profile action but a super pair of girls, as was the two top males.
Next came one of my breeds, Bobtails (17). Eye colour and coats a problem in some. BOB, the lady in Ch Grizzly Dream Blaze Of Glory. Top class and amazingly 11 week old puppies at home! BOS, the youngster Beautiful qualified Amedeus he went over the three Ch males, a young man with a future. I was taken with the 12 month old UK export I gave the Res CACIB, Zottels Co Co Chanel, and she went over 5 Ch Bitches, no surprise to be told later she was bred by Christina Bailey. I could have brought her back to the UK, its all in front of her!
Next, Hungarian Pulis, only five, but all the very best of quality. I had been told Denmark have top class puliand I certainly wasn't disappointed BOB White the new Ch Loncsoci Bator Orkeny. Res, Ch Hungary White Puli Doki. BOB Black and later confirmed Denmarks Top Dog All Breeds 2014 in Ch Bubbleton Feel The Spirt with BOS in Ch Cordmaker Hurdy Gurdy.
