BIS - Bullmastiff Librrani’s High Performance Alonso
The Danish Kennel Club ran two back to back International Show in Vejen on June 20th and 21st. The second show was a Crufts Qualifier for 2016, and the Junior Class winner, provided they had been graded Excellent and the CACIB winners could make the trip to Crufts next year.
Thankfully, both days had pleasant weather which made a relaxed atmosphere, and the main ring finished at a respectable time of 17.45. I do so admire the way the Scandinavians organise the pre-judging rings which allows them to run Best Puppy, Breeders Groups, Best Veteran, Ten Groups and Best in Show all in the main ring and still finish in good time!
I had previously seen the use of Ipads in Breed rings posting grades and results immediately online, but this was the first time I had experienced the critiques being typed directly online so that they were immediately available to read on iphones etc., by the ringside! No more queuing after the breed judging to collect the paperwork but of course, it also means that everyone else can see the critiques as well!
The only downside was a technology hitch in my ring and 3 others which delayed judging for about an hour while it was sorted out, maybe pen and paper still has a place, even if only on standby! On Saturday Best In Show judge was Kurt Nilsson and his choice went to the very showy Samoyed Cabakas Kiss The Rain, followed by the powerful moving Bracco Italiano, Olympos Ill Mio Nuovo Carnevale who also picked up Best in Show 3 the following day. 3rd went to the Veteran Puli Bubbleton Hot N’ Spicy from Sweden who also won Best Veteran on the day.
4th went to the Flat Coated Retriever bitch Starworkers Legend Continues who took group 2 under me the following day in a very strong Group 8.
On Sunday Sean Delmar took centre stage and his nod went to the impressive Bullmastiff Librrani’s High Performance Alonso who really stormed around the ring, he was group 2 on Saturday. 2nd was my group 8 winner American Cocker Galaksi This is Me who has such a lovely outline and wonderful head, 3rd was the Bracco and 4th was the Smooth Dachshund Nimik Hovsa Hodja.
