At an historic Amsterdam Winners show in mid December 2018, Jason Lynns Standard Poodle ‘Grace’ took best in show at the final Winner show to be held in the Rai and in Amsterdam itself.

AMSTERDAM RISES TO THE CHALLENGE Writes Vince Hogan Last weekend was an incredibly busy time for the international world of dogs with one particular canine hotspot being the Amsterdam Rai, home of the Amsterdam Winner Show and now the Eukanuba World Challenge And Amsterdam really did rise to that challenge! 

Best in Show (Saturday) in Rotterdam at the double show was the Bearded Collie, Beardie Connections Kenji, owned by M. C. H. B. Otto. BIS Judge was Ole Staunskjaer from Denmark. Best in Show (Sunday) in Rotterdam at the double show was the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Caramel Apple v. Tum-Tum’s Vriendjes, owned by G. M. Huikeshoven from the Netherlands. BIS Judge was Mrs Ineke Zwaartman-Pinster.

Affenpinscher ‘Tricky Ricky’ wins EWC 2014 in Amsterdam   Amsterdam, December 2014 -The Eukanuba World Challenge 2014 came to a stirring finale on Saturday evening, December 13th, in Amsterdam’s RAI Centre before a packed international crowd.  From a stunning field of 12 finalists BIS judge Jorgen Hindse, FCI Europe President and President of the Danish Kennel Club, selected ‘Ch. On October 26th the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of the Netherlands held their Championship Club Show. There were 65 entries for BIS Judge, Hans van den Berg (pictured centre). BIS and Club Winner 2014 was the dog Trootlicks Donar Dexter (Kinvaar Son Of A Gun x Kinvaar Beek A Boo), owned by Dana Schuller-Kuijper (left in the picture).

The Martinidogshow in Groningen in The Netherlands is traditionally held the weekend before Crufts, and is therefore a show that lots of exhibitors from Scandinavia, Germany and Eastern Europe go to on their way to Birmingham. The show has a very interesting judge’s list with many international specialist judges and a lot of foreign exhibitors; from England Mrs Marilyn Prior, Mr Ray Strudwick and Mr Hugh Jones were invited to judge Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Shetland…

The show is held in the centre of Eindhoven and the hall consists of two floors. The railway and bus station are right next door, and there is lots of parking nearby, so it's a good show for everyone and easy to get to.   The second floor is obviously a challenge for the organisation, after all, people not only have their dogs with them, but also show trollies, grooming tables, chairs and all sorts…

The 124th Amsterdam All Winners dog show was itself a winner in deepest December at the Rai Centre in Holland, with all the Christmas trimmings! For anyone who does not know the European scene or Holland specifically, this is their Crufts dog show, their Westminster…the biggest they hold in the Netherlands.
