Dutch Dog of the Year Show 2025

The show is about more than just appearance. In the ring, the focus is on the partnership between dog and handler, the bond built through training, the joy and love they share, and the social behaviour displayed among the dogs.

A particularly special highlight was the impressive entry of 34 veteran dogs. These senior dogs demonstrated vitality, fitness, and clear enjoyment in the ring, offering a wonderful example of how pedigree dogs can remain active and in excellent condition later in life.

Best in Show titles were awarded in several categories:

FCI Breeds BIS: Family Tromp with Afghan Hound Popovs Daiquiri (judges: Mrs. A. Gielisse, Mr. J. Wauben, Mr. R. Douma)

Dutch Breeds BIS: Anita Hoogendoorn with Wetterhoun Wetterleger’s Hauke Fos (Mrs. R. Lochs-Romans)

Nationally Recognised Breeds BIS: Petra Rombouts van der Ven with Chongqing Dog Majestic Temple Black Vudoo (Mrs. R. Lochs-Romans)

Veterans BIS: Inge & Ans Fakkert with Borzoi Calina Of The Wicklow Hunters (Judge: Mr. R. Doedijns)

The Dog of the Year Show once again highlighted the dedication, teamwork, and passion that define the Dutch dog show community.
