IRISH KENNEL CLUB TWO DAY INTERNATIONAL SHOW

Show Secretary Marion Campbell told OUR DOGS that there was a great atmosphere and a good crowd attending the show which had CACIBs available on both days. A large number of people stayed over in the caravan site making the most of the good weather.

A number of UK exhibitors had to make a quick getaway as Stena Line had cancelled the 8pm sailing one night due to the high winds. 

On Saturday October 4th, best in show judge Mrs Susan Kealy gave the top place to Ger Cox handling Mr M Scottons’ Mini Bull Terrier. First to four placings are listed below. OUR DOGS own Paul Scanlon also had another successful handling day. Well done to all the winners as follows:

Day two had local girl Joyce O'Connor in the hot seat and her final placings are shown in full below. Joyce chose the Irish Wolfhound as her BIS winner making the day for owners William and Joanne Mullen from Co Tyrone. In fact Sunday was Joanne’s birthday so they floated home on the way back to Tir Eoghain! 

‘Cooper’ the BIS winner had previously won three res BIS in 2014, at Limerick, Tralee and most recently in September at the Irish Breeds show. Willie and Joanne were ‘delighted’ and Cooper had obviously caught the eye of Croatian Judge Tino Pehar who judged both the breed and the group.

This was Cooper’s hat trick for BIS wins having taken two back in 2012, at Limerick and the Irish wolfhound club of Northern Ireland. He was also made up at Belfast as a UK Champion. So well done all round and congratulations to the IKC for another successful show.
